Things to Be Aware Of
While Cape Town is a beautiful and vibrant city, it's essential to stay cautious. Avoid walking alone at night, particularly in less crowded areas. Be aware of common scams, such as individuals offering unsolicited help or posing as officials. Keep your belongings secure and be mindful of pickpockets in crowded places. Stick to well-lit and busy areas, and use trusted transport services.
Visa and Medical Requirements
Visitors from certain countries require a visa to enter South Africa. It’s advisable to check the specific visa requirements based on your nationality on the South African Department of Home Affairs website. Medical requirements can include vaccinations for yellow fever if you are travelling from a yellow fever endemic area. It's also a good idea to check for any other travel advisories or health recommendations before your trip. For up-to-date information, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) travel page.
